Facing the stupendous task of scoring 696 runs in order to secure a win against South Africa in the final cricket test, the English team at lunch today had scored 333 runs for the loss of one wicket. Gibb (78) increased his score to 112 (not out), and Edrich took his total from 107 to 152 (not out).
