JEWS IN ITALY
ATTEMPT TO ENTER FRANCE THROUGH SNOW-COVERED PASSES. COMPARATIVELY FEW ADMITTED. (Independent Cable Service.) (Received This Dav. 10.20 a.m.) PARIS. March 13. The police, using searchlights, worked throughout the night to cope with a rush of Jews, in snow-covered Alpine passes on the Italian border, making an effort to escape before Signor Mussolini's anti-Jewish laws are enforced. It is estimated that 5000 women and children are wandering in No. Man’s Land. Comparatively few, in possession of visas, were admitted to France, but others were turned back.
