ACROSS CANADA
NEWLY-ESTABLISHED AIR LINE. WINNIPEG. The newly established Trans-Canada Air Lines is benefiting by lhe experience and development of similar organisations in both tho Old World and the New and is installing the mostmodern radio equipment known to date on its planes and its ground stations. Radio is now being used by the Trans-Canada Air Lines in four different ways: the'beam signal for navigation; voice contact between lhe ground and the plane, giving the pilot his position and weather reports; station to station signals on the ground for traffic information; and the ultrahigh frequency signals for safety aids. This latter system not only communicates with the pilot but also flashes a light on the panel of his plane.
