OBITUARY

MR JOHN McNAIR. (By Telem-aph—VTess Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The death is announced of John McNair, who retired from the position of District Engineer at Christchurch last year, aged 64. From 1909 to 1914 he was Assistant-Engineer at Invercargill and then he was transferred to Dunedin, where he remained until 1922. He then was sent to Auckland as assistantengineer. In February, 1924. he was appointed district engineer at Invercargill and after a short period there he was transferred to Wanganui. He returned to Christchurch as district engineer in September, 1925. Mr McNair was an associate member of the Institute of Civil Engineers (London) and member of the New Zealand Society of Engineers.
