CHURCH SERVICES
The Holy Communion will be celebrated at St. Matthews Church tomorrow at 8 a.m. Mr V. W. Joblin will be the preacher at 11 a.m., and at 7 p.m. Canon D. B. Malcolm, organising secretary of the Wellington Centenary Church Campaign, will be the preacher. Harvest festival services will be held at Kuripuni at 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. There will be a service at Bideford at 2.30 p.m., and at Upper Plain at 7 p.m. The series of prophetic addresses being given in Ruhamah Gospel Hall will be brought to a close tomorrow night, when Mr Wesley Richards will speak on the subject advertised in our columns. All those desirous of knowing what the Bible has to say about the eternal future should not fail to hear this concluding address. The services at the Salvation Army tomorrow will be conducted by Major Mahaffie. In the morning service the Major’s subject will be "The Power of Prayer,” and at night, “Rest for the Weary Soul” All Christian friends are invited to join with the Army in their special after-church Gospel openair service in Queen Street tomorrow night. This service is proving a great success, -and many are showing their interest by joining in the singing of the old Gospel songs. All are heartily invited to these services.
Harvest Thanksgiving will be fittingly celebrated in the Methodist Church tomorrow by special services. The church has been prettily decorated with fruit and flowers. Special music appropriate to the occasion will be rendered. The Junior Choir of eighty voices will be in charge of the praise of the morning service, while at night the Senior Choir will render Woodward's “Te Deum” and “Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem.” The soloist at the evening service will be Mr H. R. Jones, who will sing “The Reapers.” The preacher on both occasions is the Rev. Frederick J. Parker. Special offertories will be received at the services, and all gifts of produce will be sent to the Methodist Orphanage. At Kuripuni Methodist Church the morning service will be conducted by Mr F. G. Rutter, while at the, evening service the preacher will be Mr E. E. Steer. At Rangitijmau. at 2 p.m., the Rev. F. J. Parke'Avill conduct the service.
