Mrs A. W. McKenzie. Renall Street, is visiting Christchurch. Mrs Roberts, Bunny Street, has returned from a visit to Christchurch. Miss O’Leary, of Palmerston North, is visiting her mother, Cornwall Street. Mrs Barley and Miss Isabell Barley, of Wellington, were recent visitors to Masterton. Mrs G. G. Hancox and Miss Hancox, of College House, Renall Street, have gone to Christchurch for the pipe band contest. , Miss Profit, of the Palmerston North Hospital nursing stafL is visiting Mrs O’Leary, Cornwall Street. Miss Profit will proceed to Taranaki next week. Frank Chennells, son of Mr and Mrs E. J. Chennells, “Medbury,” Christchurch. is one of the five boys chosen to train at Duntroon Military College, New South Wales. The qualifications required for entry into the college are high, and include scholarship, sport, and last, but not least, personality. Frank ’ Chennells walked off with no less than four colours at his school, Christ’s College, ■ last year—football, rowing, gymnasium and athletics, and in addition won the boxing championship. In the same year he also matriculated. Mr E. J. Chennells is the principal of “Medbury,” the wellknown boys’ preparatory school, and Mrs Chennells has been associated in leading roles in repertory productions.
