CHINESE CURRENCY
SUPPORTING GUARANTEE BY BRITAIN. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 11.17 a.m.) RUGBY. March 8. Sir John Simon (Chancellor of the Exchequer) announced in the House of Commons that the Government had agreed to give a five million sterling guarantee which would enable the Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank and (he Chartered Bank to participate in a stabilisation fund for the support of Chinese currency.
