TWO FEATURE PROGRAMME. ‘"Mysterious Mr Moto,” and ‘"Follow Your Star," will be shown finally tonight at the State Theatre. "THERE GOES MY HEART." The name of Hal Roach has become synonymous with entertainment of popular appeal. He is now recognised as Hollywod’s No. 1 producer of comedies. following his highly successful "Merrily We Live,” “Topper,” and the Laurel and Hardy comedies. "There Goes My Heart,” which commences screening at the State Theatre tomorrow is the first film to be produced under his new releasing arrangement with United Artists. It is said to be the merriest comedy romance to come to the screen since “Merrily We Live.’ The leading roles are played by Virginia Bruce and Fredric March. There are also important names in the supporting cast, which includes Patsy Kelly, Eugene Palette, Alan Mowbray, Nancy Carroll and Arthur Lake. The story is a gay one and tells of a madcap heiress who becomes bored with her fortune and her yacht, goes to work in a bargain basement, and eats hamburgers with a roving reporter in? stead of caviare. It was written by the well known columnist Ed. Sullivan and opens with Joan Butterfield (Virginia nice) “the richest girl in the world’ sailing away on the quiet with her grandfather’s yacht and cutting loose in New York, freedom and adventure bound. The heiress is recognised by a roving reporter (Fredric March). Pretending to believe her just another shopgirl, they are soon having a grand time and unexpected adventure in a new world for the heiress. Although she succeeded in running away from her millions she could not run away from the love that developed between them. The swift-moving story of thengay romping romance makes happy screen entertainment. Some of the most hilarious scenes are those that talm place in an ice-skating rink and in a department store showing Patsy Kelly demonstrating electric vibrators.
