SWIMMING SPORTS

ST. PATRICK’S SCHOOL EVENTS CHAMPIONSHIP AND OTHER EVENTS. SOME EXCITING FINISHES. The pupils of St. Patrick’s School held their annual swimming sports in the Dixon Street baths on Tuesday morning under ideal conditions. All the events were keenly contested and some exciting finishes were witnessed. The Principal and staff wish to thank Mr Kelly, custodian, for his willing assistance during the season, and all instructors who gave unremitting attention to the boys and girls during the Learn to Swim Week. The boys’ championship was won by Michael Ryan with 11 points, John. Hourigan being second with 10 points, and Denis Cross third with 8 points. The girls’ championship was won by Greta Nyhan, the runner-up being Beryl Goodwin. Following arp the results:— BOYS’ EVENTS. Learners’ Race: Eric Olson 1, David Mannering 2, John Gordon 3.
