WEDDING

JOHNSON—DICKENS. A wedding of widespread interest took place in St. Matthew’s Church, Masterton, last Saturday, the contracting parties being Jean Evelyn Judd, only daughter of Mrs. W. S. Dickens, of Pownall Street, and the late Mr. Dickens, formerly of Riverside,' Tinui, and Griffith Wynn Neil, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs C. G. Johnson, of Remuera, Auckland. The Rev. E. J. Rich officiated. The bride, who was given away by her uncle, Mr. F. W. Wood, wore a frock of cream satin, with a heartshaped neck and a long train falling from the shoulder. Her long tulle veil fell from an orange blossom headband over the train. The bridesmaids, Misses Maud Williams, Joyce Shearer and Gytha Johnson (sister of the bridegroom), wore cream frilled stiffened picture frocks and large cream picture hats tied under the chin with scarlet velvet ribbon falling to the hems of the frock. Pat Brunton, a cousin of the bride, was flower girl. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr Arthur Bell, of Wellington, and Messrs. Peter Johnson and Stuart Varton were groomsmen. After the ceremony a reception was held in the Arcade Hall, the many guests being received by Mrs Dickens wearing a frock of navy georgette and lace with a navy hat and fur cape. She was assisted by Mrs. Johnson, who wore'a grey lace frock with fur cape and lame toque. When she left on her honeymoon, the bride wore a country life suit of blue grass and red earth with hat and accessories to tone.
