The Hon Robert Weir, Minister of Agriculture in the Bennett Cabinet, was killed instantly when a sjpighload of grain,, on its way from the Weir farm at y/aldon to a grain ele? vator, overturned on a steep hill, crush.ing him underneath. Mr Weir lost his seat in the House of Commons at the 1935 election.
