Butler, told the House of Commons today that Mr Ashton Gwatkin recently visited Berlin in his capacity as head of the economic section of the Foreign Office to renew his personal contact with German officials and exchange views with them on the general economic situation. No proposals relating to the former German colonies or the limitations of armaments were discussed.
