As a result of ,the destruction by fire of a shed at the mine mouth last night, the Liverpool State Mine is idle today. Burning timbers fell across the main haulage rope, making it red hot and necessitating resplicing. The work was completed today and it is expected that the 'mine will resume tomorrow. The James Mine was closed yesterday for a week owing to accumulation at the coal depots and congestion of shippings.
