HOME & FOREIGN AFFAIRS IN BRITAIN DEBATE ON PALESTINE UNLIKELY. LORD HALIFAX TO SPEAK ON SPAIN. (British Official Wireless.l RUGBY, March 6. The consideration of financial affairs which always precedes the Budget will occupy the attention of the House of Commons this week and on Wednesday and Thursday an examination of the 1939 estimates will begin. It is possible that a statement on Palestine will be asked for tomorrow when the Foreign Office supplementary estimates will be considered, but as long as the London conferences are continuing, all parties share the view that a Parliamentary debate on the future of Palestine would be inopportune. In the House of Lords on Thursday, Lord Halifax, Foreign Secretary, will probablv speak for the Government in the debate "raised by the Opposition criticising the Government’s policy in Spain and urging that vigilance is now required to ensure that the pledges in regard to the integrity of Spanish territory are respected and that, every j possible assistance should be given in evacuating and helping refugees and safeguarding the Republicans on Spanish soil. •
