REPUBLICAN FLEET
ORDERED TO BIZERTA. CREWS TO BE LANDED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 11.20 a.m.) PARIS, March 6. The Navy Ministry announces that the Republican Fleet has been ordered to Bizert-a, where it will be decommissioned and the crews landed. The fleet returned to Algiers in the afternoon, but was unable to shelter and is expected at Bizerta early on March 7. The Defence Council is reported to be making reprisals against Communists, several hundred of whom have been arrested. A wireless message from Oran reports that twelve Republicans, including Dolores Ibarruri (La Pasionaria) have arrived by plane.
