The liquor which she consumed while attending the Motukarara races on Saturday afternoon affected tne driving of Hilda George to such an extent that her car attracted the attention of a police officer and she was arrested. In the Magistrate’s Court at Christchurch yesterday George was charged with intoxication while in charge of a car. She pleaded guilty and was fined £4O, in default 30 days hard labour. Her driving licence was cancelled, and she was declared unfit to hold another for three years.
