SECURITY & PEACE

IMPORTANCE OF CHRISTIAN FORCES. CALL TO REPENTANCE. In a striking address on “God ; s Plan for the World,” delivered at a largelyattended meeting of the Masterton branch of the Church of England Men's Society, held last night, Mr. R. I. Wadhams dealt with vital human needs, and sounded a clarion call to repentance. Illustrating his remarks by a survey of history and current world movements, the speaker showed how Christianity alone could give security and peace. Many members took part in the discussion which followed, the point being stressed that to strengthen Christian forces was the most practical contribution to world and individual wellbeing that anybody could make. Four new members were elected, and it was decided to hold a renewal and admission service on Palm Sunday. Preliminary arrangements were made for an open air public service of witness to be conducted by members of the Society.
