Retail Honey Sales.
“The attention of grocers, retailers and other resellers of honey is drawn to the necessity for affixing the new marketing seals to all containers of honey sold on or after March 1 of this year,” said Mr. F. R. Picot, Director of Internal Marketing, in an interview yesterday. “Under the Honey Marketing Regulations, the final responsibility for seeing that these seals are attached to each container rests on the retailer, and all honey sold or held in stock on or after March 1 must have the appropriate seals affixed. The seals referred to are similar in appearance to the ordinary postage stamps, and have different values for the various-sized containers. They are available in all the necessary denominations from the Internal Marketing Division in Wellington or Auckland on payment of the appropriate fees. Should there be any doubt regarding the procedure to be adopted, however, the division will be pleased to advise,” Mr. Picot added.
Four Jews—two men and two women—alleged to be leaders of the illegal Communist organisation in Haifa, have been sentenced to one year's imprisonment for being associated with Arab rebels.
