COMING OF AGE PARTY
GATHERING AT GREYTOWN. (“Times-Age” Special.) A delightful party given by Mr and Mrs F. Best in honour of the coming of age of their daughter Esme, was held in the Odd Fellows’ Hall on Saturday evening. There were over a hundred friends present, some coming from Wellington and Wanganui. Mr V. Boyd supplied the music for dancing and extras Were played by Mrs S. Best, of Wanganui, and Miss Jean Bensemen, of Masterton. After supper the birthday cake, with 21 lighted candles was placed in the centre of the hall, and the health of Miss Best was responded to by all with musical honours,. her father presented her with a golden key. In replying to the toast Miss Best expressed her thanks for the many beautiful gifts she had received. She wore a frock of blue tulle net with blue taffeta bands and carried a pretty pink posy. A ‘delightful party was brought to a close with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne,” the National Anthem and cheers for Mr and Mrs Best. ,
