OTTAWA.—lndicative of the increasing prosperity of the population of Canada, income tax collected in the Dominion during the first nine months of the current fiscal year to the end of December amounted to 129.197,426 dollars, an increase of 21,806,593 dollars over the corresponding period of 1937. Taxes collected during the current fiscal year are based on incomes of 1937, while that collected in 1937 was based on the income of the preceding year.
