So great was the interest of Returned Soldiers’ Associations in New Zealand in the Furlough House trip o sons of members to Sydney m Apii that 260 nominations were received from 62 associations in New Zealand. New Zealand headquarters applied to the Sydney authorities for an increase in the number, but Sydney suggested that one boy should be sent from each New Zealand branch of the association. The original invitation was for 50 tons of New Zealand returned soldiers. Furlough House is run by the A.I.F. Wives’ and Children’s Holiday Association at Narrabeen, near Sydney, as a rest house for wives and childien ot New South Wales returned spldiers.
