HITLER MURDERED

ACCORDING TO ANONYMOUS BOOK

ALLEGED IMPERSONATION BY DOUBLE. DEATH ON EVE OF MUNICH CONFERENCE. (Independent Cable Service.) (Received This Day, 10.10 a.m.) NEW YORK, March 3. A sensational anonymous book, published today by the Macaulay Company, declares that Herr Hitler was murdered on the eve of the historic Munich conference and that a double has been impersonating the Fuhrer ever since. The book, entitled “Strange Death of Adolf Hitler,” says Hitler ate a poisoned omlet on September 28. The story is not signed, but the publishers’ foreword say it is a translation of a manuscript smuggled out of Germany, written by Maximilian Bauer, who allegedly has an amazing resemblance to Herr Hitler.
