More than 1000 succumbed because of the unaccustomed heat. TIENTSIN BARRIERS. TENSION INCREASING. SHANGHAI, March 3. Tension between Japanese and British, French and Americans in Tientsin is increasing. Japanese are building bridges and roads, which, if completed, will cut off the Concession. A showdown is expected next week.
