SIR JULIEN CAHN'S TEAM AT WAITAKI. JACKSON & OLDFIELD MAKE CENTURIES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) OAMARU, March 1. Sir Julien Cahn’s touring cricket team met a team representing the South Island colleges at Waitaki today under pleasant weather conditions. The usually fast wicket was medium paced because of a light drizzle overnight, and the outfield slow. The visitors won the toss and batted first to score 380 for the loss of six wickets, when the innings was declared closed. The schoolboys took the crease on a drier wicket, but were unable to withstand the attack of the visitors, losing six wickets for 68 runs at stumps.Scores: — SIR JULIEN CAHN’S TEAM. First Innings. C.
