DECLARATION BY SPANISH | FOREIGN MINISTER REPORTS OF DISINTEGRATION FALSE. ' LITTLE ACTIVITY ON FIGHTING FRONTS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright VALENCIA, March 1. ' The Republican Foreign Minister, Senor Del Vayo, in a speech in Valencia today, said that the Government and the army were still at their posts. He declared that the news published abroard regarding disintegration was absolutely false. Everyone was aware of the difficulties of the situation, but was prepared to face them with calm determination. Little activity is apparent on the fighting fronts, but air raids were carried out against Candia and Alicante. EMBASSIES OCCUPIED. (Independent Cable Service.) LONDON, March 1. Representatives of General Franco in Britain and France today occupied the Spanish Embassies and Consulates, their first act being to hoist the Franco flag and give the Fascist salute. No hostile demonstrations occurred either in France or England. REPORTS IN CONFLICT POSITION OF REPUBLICANS. LONDON, March 1. According to well-informed circles here the capitulation of the Republican Government is .imminent. A Paris messaged states that General Miaja, defender of Madrid, has resigned. Another message, however, states that it is believed that the Government will soon go to Elda, which tends to confirm statements that the Republicans intend to fight on.
