ASSISTANCE FOR FARMERS IN BRITAIN. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, February 23. The Minister of Agriculture, Sir Reginald Dorman-Smith, announced in the House of Commons today that the Government had reached the conclusion that it was necessary to. give additional assistance to barley and oats and proposed that, when a long term policy had been finally settled, it should be applied retrospectively to both these cereals in respect of the 1938 crops.
