BEDAUX CASE

Bedaux’s application was rejected, but he was granted leave to appeal. The action McChesney v Bedaux relates to a claim for the delivery of stock in the Bedaux Company of South Africa to McChesney as additional emolument for services as genera! manager and engineer director. A court order was issued attaching the person of Charles Bedaux, the American efficiency expert, who is a friend of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. The order was issued on the application of Robert McChesney, former manager of the Bedaux Company of South Africa, to recover £2500 of the company’s stock allegedly held either by Bedaux or the company. Bedaux was released after giving security. He applied for the setting aside of the writ of attachment.
