A drastic curtailment of concessions means a 12A per cent increase on the income tax of single persons and married couples without children. Allowances have also been reduced in respect of servants’ wages, church taxes and employees’ expenses. The revision aims at a large increase of revenue without new taxes. The small wage-earner is particularly‘affected.
