OBITUARY
MR A. F. E. AMOORE. The death occurred at Whangarei this week of Mr Alfred Frank Elliott Amoore, formerly of Masterton. The late Mr Amoore, who was born in London, England, came to the Dominion at an early age, and was well known throughout New Zealand. He went to school in Masterton and worked in this district for some years? Leaving the railway service 20 years ago, he joined the ; Portland, Cement Company, with which he had been connected ever since. 7 . The funeral cortege was one of the longest seen in Whangarei, among those present being the full staff of the Portland works, which had been closed for the afternoon as a mark of respect. In addition to the Church of England burial service, the impressive service of the Order of Druids was conducted at the graveside, deceased having being a member of the Masterton Lodge, which forwarded a beautiful wreath. Among the Druid pall-bear-ers was Mr W. Corbett, formerly of Masterton. The late Mr Amoore leaves a widow, one son (Mr Frank Amoore, of Portland, Whangarei),.and four daughters. Among the mourners were Mrs A. Hausman, of Auckland (sister), M. E. G. Amoore, of Hamilton (brother), and Mrs R. J. King of Matamata (niece), all formerly of Masterton.
