The annual meeting of the Newspaper Proprietors’ Association passed a resolution: "'Dial in view of the greatly increased cost of newsprint for 1939. following on higher costs and shorter hours, the Newspaper Proprietors’ Association regrets to have to recommend that the weekly 'discount on delivered newspapers be discontinued whore such is being allowed.”
