STENDHAL’S BIRTHPLACE
BOUGHT BY MUNICIPALITY.. The municipality of Grenoble has just bought the apartment where Stendhal was born in 1783 and will make of it an annex of the Stendhal museum in that town. The apartment is situated on the second floor of a quaint old house in the rue Jean Jacques Rousseau. The Stendhal, museum of Grenoble is famous as one of the completest museums consecrated to the memory of a writer.
