COUNTY AFFAIRS
MEETING OF WAIRARAPA SOUTH COUNCIL. AHIARUHE DEVIATION WORK. (“Times-Age" Special.) The monthly meeting of the Wairarapa South County Council was held this morning. There were present Councillors D. McGregor (chairman), A. Reid, E. W. Allen, W. A. Renall. R. Gallbn, Fi Court, F. Joblin, C. A. Cameron and A. McGregor, and the County Clerk (Mr E. T. Beavan). The treasurer’s statement showed receipts since last meeting as £11,452 9s Bd. There was a credit balance at the Bank of New Zealand of £4782 Is 2d. Accounts amounting to £4708 12s 9d wore passed. Mi' E. G. Thorne wrote protesting against surplus water being thrown from a neighbouring water-race on to his property and asked that the council endeavour to obviate same. It was decided that the chairman and Councillors Renall, Reid and Allen inspect same and report, all parties and waterrace overseer to be present. It was decided to prohibit the parking of cars on the roadside during the progress of the Carterton races. The tender of Mr F. Donnes for the Aliiaruhe deviation for £375 3s and (hat for bridge filling and raising the road al lhe Kokotau bridge, £426 8s 6d, were accepted.
