KEEP FIT WEEK
MASTERTON CELEBRATIONS TONIGHT’S EVENTS. PRIMARY SCHOOL SPORTS TOMORROW. A Possibles v . Probables baseball match, to be played at the Park at 6 p.m., will open this evening’s celebration of Physical Fitness Week. At 7 p.m. there will be a demonstration in Queen Street of drill, gymnastics, life saving, folk dancing and. Scottish dancing. and judging by the enthusiasm in evidence on Monday night this evening’s events should prove very popular. Tomorrow the primary schools' combined sports will be held in the Park, commencing at 10 a.m. In the afternoon at 2 o’clock there will be a procession of school pupils through Queen Street to the Park. A dance will be held in Queen Street at 9 p.m. Details of the events and officials at the school sports appear on page 10. GENEROUS DONATION MADE BY MESSRS MILLER & DAVEY. A donation of £ll 10s was handed today to the Mayor of Masterton (Mr T. Jordan) by Messrs Miller and Davey, showmen at present conducting an entertainment in Queen Street, as a contribution towards the expenses of Keep Fit Week. In acknowledging the donation. Mr Jordan said he did so with very keen appreciation of the generosity ol Messrs Miller and Davey.
