BIRTH RATE
CANADA SHOWS INCREASE. OTTAWA. The birth rate in Canada has shown an increase of 4 per cent during the first eleven months of 1938 while, on the other hand, mainly due to improved medical technique as well as the healthy climate, the death date has decreased by 4 per cent. Vital statistics of the Dominion show that in the first eleven months of the year 77,345 births. 47,050 deaths and 38,075 marriages were registered as compared with 74.360 births, 18.934 deaths and 37,192 marriages in the corresponding period of 1937.
