DROUGHT PRECAUTIONS

CONSTRUCTION OF NUMEROUS SMALL LAKES. REGINA. In its attempts to prevent the re-oc-currence of drought in the southern areas of the prairie provinces, the Canadian Government has undertaken the creation of numerous small lakes for water storage and irrigation purposes. During the year just closed 4270 such small,water projects were completed, bringing the total for the three years the scheme has been in operation to approximately 9000 separate projects.
