RUBBER GOODS
MANUFACTURE IN CANADA. OTTAWA, Canada imported 42,496,727 pounds of raw rubber valued at 5,947,439 dollars during the eight months of the current fiscal year to the end of November. Most of this was imported direct from the British Straits Settlements with smaller quantities from Ceylon, the Dutch East Indies and Liberia and also through the United States and the United Kingdom. Tn addition, imports of semi-manufactured and fully manufactured articles of rubber amounted to over 2 000,000 dollars during this period. On the other hand, Canada, exported fully manufactured articles of rubber to the value of 10.369,800 dollars during this period consisting mainly of pneumatic tire casing, inner tubes, belting, boots and shoes of rubber, canvas shoes with rubber soles, rubber hose, and rubber clothing.
