NATIONAL MEETING TO BE HELD NEXT MONTH. LARGE ENTRIES EXPECTED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The annual meeting of the National Ride Association will open at Trentham on March 3, and conclude with the final match for the King’s Prize on March 8. The range will be open for practice the day before the start of the meeting. Judging by the entries already received prospects are promising for a successful and well-attended meeting. Auckland City. Opaki and Petone clubs will each bo represented by 16 competitors. Wellington Suburbs has entered nine of its leading marksmen. The Invercargill City Guards are sending eight competitors and Kaitaia five. Ex-champions who intend to take part in the meeting include R. J. King, H. V. Croxton. C. J. Nix. D. Roots, W. N. Masefield, F. Bowes. R. H. Nicholl, A. L. Caldwell, F. H. James, H. Simmonds, P. Berry, and Colonel E. R. Smith. Two women will be competing, Mrs T. Hill, Auckland, and Mrs J. B. Doaki, Invercargill. Mrs Hill has competed at several of the National meetings during the past few years, but this will be the first occasion there has been more than one woman competitor. The president of the National Rifle Association. Captain A. F. Ritchie Crawford. Invercargill, and the chairman of the association executive, Mr W. Mcßain, will also be competitors.
