Thompson when supporting at today’s meeting of the Wairarapa Hospital Board, an. application by the Masterton branch of the Plunket Society for the board to bear the cost of Karit'ane products provided free to indigent mothers. It. was stated that last year it cost the society £23 to provide the products but. in other years the cost had been much heavier. Member." agreed that the society was doing very good work and that, most of the branches, were financially embarrassed. It was decided that a month's supply of Karitane products be given to each branch of the society in the board’s area, and that at the end of each month the branches submit to the board a schedule showing the number and type of person assisted. Mr Trevor Beetham suggested that the society should make a small charge for each case treated. At the Masterton Show lie said, the society attended to 51 babies for which it received "the magnificent, sum of 2s 6d."
