INDIAN CONGRESS
SPLIT IN HIGH COMMAND INDICATED RESIGNATION OF GANDHI SUPPORTERS. SWING TO THE LEFT. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 12.40 p.m.) CALCUTTA. February 21. The reported decision of twelve of Mr Gandhi's fifteen supporters to resign seems to presage a split in the Congress high command on the eve of a session at Tripuri for the purpose of formulating the year’s programme. The situation is interpreted as meaning that the recalcitrants desire to give the Leftist President, Mr Chandra Bose and the Socialists a free hand to conduct Congress in the interests of India’s complete independence.
