THE GREAT NICOLA

RETURNING AFTER TEN YEARS ABSENCE. To those who remember the sensational exploits of tlie Great Nicola during his lasi visit here, it does not seem credible that almost ten years have elapsed since we were astounded by the sensational exhibitions of attempts to hang this famous mystery man in the crowded sections of our thoroughfares. Thousands upon thousands of people have witnessed his remarkable escapes from the lofty heights, and held their breath in suspense during the tense moments when he was wriggling himself free from his perilous noose, and which gained for him the world-wide reputation of being "the man they could not hang.” We understand that Nicola has another more daring feat that he will present as a free attraction during his engagement here, which is said to bo more sensational and thrilling than his famous hanging stunt. If such is the case, we will be looking forward with great anxiety for the promised free treat. As on his previous tour. Nicola will again be toured under the management of Sir Benjamin Fuller, and it is through the untiring perseverance of Sir Benjamin that Nicola has been prevailed upon to again visit us with his new bag of tricks. Sir Benjamin Fuller made two personal visits to Nicola’s home, has written him scores of letters, and untold cables have been sent in an endeavour to induce the famous master magician to make another tour of this country, and it is with great pleasure that he announces the successful conclusion of his tireless efforts. With the exception of a few principals and some of the outstanding features, the entire personnel, programme and scenic effects have been entirely replaced with what is claimed to be the biggest and most startling magical production that the world has ever seen. Nicola will appear at the Regent Theatre, Masterton, on Wednesday night, March I.
