General situation: An anti-cyclone covers the Tasman Sea and New Zealand area, the centre being west of Cook Strait. Forecast: Light to moderate southerly winds predominating at first, but soon tending to northerly and later freshening about Cook Strait. Weather: Fine, with rising .temperatures.
