POTATO EMBARGO
— —v- — GROWING AGITATION IN AUSTRALIA. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. SYDNEY. February 21. The agitation for the removal of the embargo on New Zealand potatoes is growing stronger daily . Advice was received from Canbena last night that certain Ministers were likely to raise the matter in a Federal Cabinet meeting which is to be held in Sydney shortly. While not anxious to embarrass the Prime Minister, Mr J. A .Lyons, whose Tasmanian constituency supplies the bulk of the potato requirements of the mainland, they feel that they can no longer withstand the pressure of Government supporters who are clamouiing for relief from the famine prices which consumers in the eastern States are compelled to pay for Tasmanian potatoes. .
