CHURCH SERVICES
For centuries the season of Lent which begins this week has been marked by the Church of England with special services. Helpful services have been arranged for the St Matthew’s Parish. The Holy Communion will be celebrated at St Matthew’s on Wednesdays at 7 a.m. and on Thursdays at 10.30 a.m. Beginning tomorrow at 7.30 a.m. there will be on Wednesdays a mission service with a course of sermons by the Vicar on “The Example of Christ.” For the children and their parents and friends a series of Lantern services will start at 7.30 p.m. on Tuesday at Upper Plain on Thursday, at Kuripuni, and on Friday in St Matthew’s Parish Hall. Reproductions of some' of the world's most famous sacred pictures wil be shown and also a series of beautifully coloured slides telling the story of Bunyan’s immortal “Pilgrim's Progress.”
