DR. M. B. TWEED
RETURN FROM TOUR ABROAD IMPORTANCE OF PREVENTING DISEASE, TRIBUTE TO LATE SIR TRUDY KING. (By Telegraph—Press Association:) WELLINGTON, This Day. Dr. M. B. Tweed, formerly Medical Adviser to the Plunket Society, returned today from a tour of eight months abroad. He stresses the importance of the prevention, rather than the cure, of disease, and says the only way to prevent it is by a periodical examination of all people. He found that there was a great interest in the work of ’the late Sir Truby King and evidence of' how right Sir Truby had been. ' What the latter had said had been absolutely sound. Dr Tweed said he did not agree with the way people today rushed off to try new diets and fads. He added that if the national health insurance scheme meant the maintenance of health, it would be a great step forward.
