HUNT FOR SUBMARINES
REPORTED OFF SINGAPORE. NO TRACE FOUND. Ry Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. Singapore, February 18. On Wednesday. Thursday and Friday nearly every R.A.F. machines based on Singapore searched the seas for a radius of 100 miles following a report from Naval Intelligence that two submarines of nationality unknown, but believed to be German, were cruising in local waters. No trace of the Eubnjarines were found.
