WEDDING

CHARLES—MORGAN. (“Times-Ace” Special.) A quiet but pretty wedding was celebrated at St. Luke’s Church, Greytown, on Saturday last, when Miss Elsie Eileen Morgan, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs F. C. H. Morgan, was married, to Mr Thomas John Charles, of Bargood. Wales, and recently of the Imperial Army, India. The Rev. Canon Sykes officiated, and Miss Mary Sykes presided at the organ. The. bride who was escorted by her father, wore a gown of blue floral georgette, with a long swing skirt and draped neckline. She wore a wide brimmed hat to match, and carried a sheaf of delphinium, gypsophila,' and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaid, Miss Phyllis Bennett, of Wellington, was attired in a gown of pink floral georgette, with a long swing skirt and heart-shaped neckline. She wore a pink straw hat and carried a sheaf of pink dahlias, mauve thalictrum and maidenhair fern. The duties of best man were ably carried out by Mr Eric Cox, of Lower Hutt. After the wedding the guests were entertained at the home of the bride’s brother. The bride’s mother, who received the guests, was wearing a dress of navy blue silk repp, trimmed with floral satin and a hat to tone. She carried a posy of blue hydrangea and red charm dahlias. After the reception Mr and Mrs Charles left for their future home at Petone, the bride travelling in a London tan costume with a hat to match.
