Mrs Shekleton, of Pahiatua, is on a visit to Wellington. Miss W. Peters, High Street, Carterton, is visiting Opunake. Mrs J. F. Studholme, Masterton, is on a visit to Wanganui. Mrs W. Whale, Masterton, is spending a holiday in the Wanganui district. Miss Francis, of Coradine Street, Masterton, is spending a holiday in Wellington. Miss B. Peters, High Street, Carterton, is spending a holiday in Auckland. Mrs D. Gibb Johnston, of Carterton, left today to spend a holiday in the Nelson district. Mrs and Miss Groombridge were Hamilton visitors to Pongaroa during the week.
Miss C. Drummond, of Lansdowne, returned yesterday from a visit to Wellington.
Miss Mary Ibbetson, of Church Street, Masterton, is on a visit to Ngaio for a few weeks. Miss Moyna Barrer, of Renall Street, Masterton, has returned home after visiting Picton and Wellington. Mrs Brough, of Wellington, who has been the guest of Mrs W. Dickson, Victoria Street, Masterton, has returned home.
Mrs F. Wooffindin, of Palmerston North, has returned home after a holiday spent at Pongaroa, where she was the guest of Mrs McKay. Mrs W. Hawkins, of Brooklyn, Wellington, was a visitor to her daughter, who lives in Renall Street, Masterton, during the show. She visited Carterton yesterday and left by the afternoon train for Wellington.
Mrs E. J. Carroll (Rotorua), Mrs D. Meyers (Hawera), Mr and Mrs J. Culloty (Lower Hutt), Miss G. Carroll (Christchurch), Mr and Mrs T. Ryan (Stratford), Miss N. Johns (Wellington), Mr J. O’Donnell (Taumarunui), Miss W. Syron (Sydney), Mr and Mrs Lean (Manakau), are visitors to Masterton for the Meyers—Savage-wedding which will take place on Saturday.
Last evening a large number of friends paid a “house warming” visit to the residence in Tararua- Street, Masterton, of Mr and Mrs W. Winhall, who were recently married. A most enjoyable time was spent at bridge, at' the conclusion pf which Mr W. L. Marchbank extended the good wishes of the visitors for the future happiness and prosperity of Mr and Mrs Winhall, who were accorded musical honours. The winners of the bridge prizes were: —Men, Mr F. Longstaff, Wellington, first, and Mrs Yough (who played as a man); ladies, Mrs Wood (first) and Mrs G. Hayne.
