LINCOLN SHEEP
BREEDERS’ -ASSOCIATION HOLD ANNUAL MEETING. EXPORT MARKET MAINTAINED. There was a fair attendance of members at the annual meeting of the Lincoln Sheep Breeders’ Association of New Zealand, which was held in Masterton this week. The president, Mr L. R. Wilton, occupied the chair. The annual report which was adopted, stated that the membership of the association had not shown any decrease during the past two years. Interest in the export market had been maintained and breeders had met with a verykeen demand for stud rams and ewes from the Argentine and Uruguay. The council regretted to report that Mr David Donald, for, many years a keen breeder of Lincoln sheep had disposed of his well known Pakaraka flock. Messrs Voss Bros., of Longburn, had made application for membership and registration of their flock, which was to be bred from stock purchased from Messrs G. V. Smith, of Gisborne, and L. R. Wilton, of Masterton. Officers were elected as follow: — President, Mr L. R. Wilton; vice-presi-dent, Mr M. P. Bremer (Waverley); treasurer, Mr H. J. Rayner; auditor, Mr G. W. Sellar.
The three retiring members of the council, Messrs W. M. Bishell. E. T. Wilton, and G. V. Smith were rc-elect-cd. The association accepted with regret the resignation of Mr David Donald, who had been treasurer for a great many years and decided to place on record appreciation of his services. The following were nominated as judges to act at the Royal Show: Messrs M. P. Bremer and A. E. Anderson (Clareville).
