STEPS TO PROMOTE SPORT. Following the tin-hare race meeting held under the auspices of the Masterton A. and P. Bradbury, president of the Wairarapa Coursing Club, presided, and the clubs represented were Wellington, Wairarapa, Northern Hawke’s Bay, Dannevirke, Wanganui, and HastSeveral delegates complained of the slowness of the National Coursing Association in answering correspondence and allotting dates for meetings. Others pointed out that the change of secretaryship in the association would result in some confusion. A suggestion was that the association be recommended to set up a sub-committee in the North Island to deal with allotment of dates and other routine business. Greyhound racing was making rapid headway in the North Island. The secretary of the Wairarapa Coursing Club was instructed to submit the following dates as a combined application to the National Coursing Association for endorsement in toto: February 25. Masterton; March 11, Dannevirke; March 25, Wellington; Easter Saturday, Napier; Easter Monday. Wanganui. • The conference was adjourned till March 11, the secretary of the Dannecirke Club agreeing to act as secretary, and to draft an agenda paper from suggestions to be forwarded by the clubs. The National Coursing Association is to be notified of the forthcoming conference and asked to send a representative.
