SWIMMING
MASTERTON CLUB MEETING. LAST NIGHT'S RESULTS.
Again favoured with good weather, the Masterton Amateur Swimming Club held its weekly "club night" at the Dixon Street baths last night. The handicapper had done his work well, and several swimmers found they had to use "top gear" all
the distance to secure first place. As the season progresses and competitors strike form, even closer races should be witnessed.
The standard of diving is especially high, and is particularly noticeable in the men’s section, but some competitors should attempt the more difficult dives. Perhaps the visit of Mr Norman Dyer next Tuesday evening will stimulate interest in the more difficult forms of diving. Club members are reminded of the "Keep Fit" Procession on Saturday, and are asked to parade at Knox Church at 1.15 p.m. in ordinary street clothes, but carrying their costumes and towels. The following are the results of last evening's events: — 25 yards junior boys’ breaststroke: R. Knowles, Bsecs., 1; J. Blackwood, 6 secs., 2; G. Whvborn. scr., 3.
